Program History

 

The History War Policy of the Government affects more to lives of the Moro people in Mindanao. This time of honor, thousand of the were again dislocated.  Many women and children died in the evacuation centers. Hundreds of them were having a serous health problem due to inadequate nutrition and shelter. Because of continue violating the rights of the Moro people, innocent civilians are suffering from different illness and die without intervention from the Government.

 

A concentrate situation shows that a certain health NGO is very important to help lessen the worst situation of the people during the war. Pasasambao Integrated Health Services (PIHS) was established in November 8, 2000. It was started as a clinic based program and its activities are depends on the situation brought by the military interventions in the area of the Moro people. But later on realized that services are not enough to answer the effect of arm conflict but it is also important to help people understand why there is such situation that can cause large effects to their lives.

 

As a non-government, non-stock, non-profit health program in General Santos City and Sarangani Province, our funds are defending on the donations received from the relatives of the staff, friends and large amount is coming from the solicitation we made for the friends abroad.

 

The program also made in IGP (income generating projects) which is the Malong and Mat weaving project to sustain the activities and allowances of the staff.
